BIOGRAPHY
De Hommel Ronald (Nazca Pictures)
Ronald de Hommel has worked as a freelance photojournalist since 2002 when he spent a summer photographing the Second Intifada in the Palestinian Territories. He focuses on social and environmental issues, often in (post) conflict situations. He currently works on several worldwide projects besides doing assignments for European magazines and NGO’s. He studied journalism in Utrecht, the Netherlands. He also writes and recently started experimenting with video.

He has kept a special interest in the Middle East throughout the years, resulting in many more trips to the Arab world and a book about Palestinian refugees in the Diaspora. Other areas of interest are East Asia and Latin America, with a special focus on Colombia.

He recently started with the project ‘disputed waters’ where, together with colleague photographers and journalists, he visits places in the world where water may become the source of conflict due to climate change.

After having lived in the Netherlands, Australia and Venezuela he currently works from Paris, France.
