BIOGRAPHY
Lujan Carlos (Nazca Pictures)
Born in 1975 Carlos Lujan studied Image and Sound and after that, Photography at the school of Arts and Crafts of Valencia.
At the present he is working and publishing in several Spanish newspapers and magazines. Lujan has always been interested in working on social themes, realizing several reportages, among them: “On the road”, on the daily life of truckdrivers, “Istanbul”, a contemporary vision on the city. He has just finished his last work “Asia Town in Paris”, on the religious, cultural, daily life of an important and large part of the Parisienne population.
Lujan received some grants and prizes which helped him developping his works such as: Alcoimatje grants, 1999, for his work “Calamocarro”, about a camp in Ceuta where many north Saharian people gather, waiting to join Spain, legally or illegally.
Grant from the Culture Ministry of Spain for the Spanish School in Paris, 2002, for his work “Asia Town in Paris”
Injuve prize of Photography, Madrid 2002, for his work on the city of Istanbul.
Art Visual grants, Valencia in 2003, for his colour work “On the road”, on the daily life of truckdrivers. Latest prize: Nuevo Talento Fnac de Fotografía 2004 (España) for his feature "Asia Town in Paris". Lujan is represented by Nazca Pictures.
