Tango in Buenos Aires

The tango, some wanted to bury it. But once again, it has reappeared. It is more alive than ever. Today this dance has its own national academy, its FM station, its television programmes and its schools. They are so full that they are about to explode. At 1287 Calle Ministro Brin, there is a change of scenery. A cabaret the “Tango Mio” welcomes foreigners and Argentinians every evening. They come to listen to la cumparsita, mi Buenos Aires querido, el dia que me quieras, caminito. Eternal tangos, that bring to mind for a great majority of Argentinians, sons or grandsons of emigrants, the wounds of an exile that is still close at heart.  (More) ...
