Dozens of destroyed villages line the Paoua âÃì Bossangoa road in the north west of the CAR. Most of them were burnt and raided between 2005 and 2007 when the Presidential Guard and the FACA (National Army) fought with the rebel army APRD. Civilians fled into the surrounding bush where they have lived until today in very basic circumstances.
