Canaima, Venezuela. National park Canaima in Central Venezuela is considered one of the most impressive natural sceneries in the world. On the edge of the Amazon basin this tropical forest area is a myriad of waterways separated by dense jungle and tabletop mountains called Tepuis with vertical cliffs of over 1000m. It’s home to the highest waterfall in the world. The Angel Falls, are located in the centre of the park and have a continuous drop of 1000m. The remote area can only be reached by air or water, but the rivers are difficult to negotiate because of dangerous currents and rapids. From Canaima village canoe trips are organised to the Angel falls. The trip at high speed takes many hours and an overnight stay at the base of the falls is necessary.
